The OpportunityAs a Data Engineer, you will work in a fast paced, innovative, and collaborative environment on exciting assignments that are focused on the adoption of leading-edge technologies, implementation patterns, and data management standards and controls.The TeamThe Wealth Management Technology Team supports complex and very dynamic business for product delivery, financial planning services, lending services, and investment operations. Our culture is grounded in quality and managing customer expectations.The ImpactYou will work with various stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements and align with our data strategy. You will also mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data engineering practices and standards.The Minimum Qualifications6+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles3+ years supporting and maintaining cloud-based database applications and solutionsBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related fieldThe Ideal QualificationsKnowledge and experience with Informatica Power Center or cloud (IDMC/IICS)Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated experience with application and data integration architecturesDemonstrated experience preparing and reviewing product documentation, written instructions, and technical literature for accuracy and completenessExperience with wealth management or financial services projectsStrong knowledge of architecture principles, development standards, and best practicesAdvanced knowledge and experience with Data Governance and MDM technologies and methodologiesAWS Cloud Data Engineer certificationMastery experience with database SQL coding and scripting Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools, such as Airflow, Luigi, or DagsterExperience with data processing frameworks, such as Spark, Hadoop, or FlinkExperience data modelling in support of an enterprise data warehouse and custom application databasesExperience with data lake technologies, such as Vertica, including maintenance and support of an enterprise data warehouseExperience maintaining and supporting business critical custom build applicationsExperience maintaining and publishing standards and best practices with respect to DB architecture, design, naming, back-up, security, and usageDesigns and develops packages, stored procedures, functions, views, queries and other related jobs to facilitate application access to dataKnowledge and experience with Java application developmentKnowledge and experience unit testing using test driven developmentAssists in troubleshooting, analyzing, and optimizing DB performance issuesCan do attitude, with the ability to drive to success in both independent and group projectsAble to be agile in thinking and approach to solve the problem at handDemonstrated experience and ability to deliver results quickly in a fast-paced environment on multiple projectsAbility to work with other IT groups and business usersWhat to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the TeamAgile scrum meetings, as appropriate, to track and drive individual and team accountabilityAd hoc collaboration sessions to define and adopt standards and best practicesA weekly team training session focused on comprehension of the delivery modelConduct technical troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support for production codeFocused one-on-one meetings with your managerAccess to mentorship opportunitiesNetworking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQ, veteran and disability-focused Business Resource GroupsAccess to learning contentYour ethics and integrity will be valued by a company with a strong and stable ethical business with industry leading pay and benefitsCode Code Code#LI-SC1MassMutual is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer Minority/Female/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
