Under the direct supervision of the Day/Outpatient Clinical Supervisor, the Outpatient Counselor provides clients with individual counseling for personal development. Provides substance use disorder group counseling, skill building sessions and alcohol/drug education classes. Implements program activities and provides supervision of outpatient , day treatment, and aftercare clients. Hours are from 12pm to 8pm, Monday through Friday. In-person/on-site attendance required.

Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or an advanced clinical degree in human services, such as a master's in clinical psychology or master's in counseling psychology, or social work preferred. For non-CSACs, must be willing to work toward obtaining CSAC certification within two years of hire. Two years direct work experience in substance use disorder treatment services preferred. Must have a demonstrated ability to produce effective treatment plans and updates and perform appropriate discharge planning including producing viable discharge summaries. Requires effective verbal and written communications skills, maturity, insight and sound judgment.
