THE PLAYER

You will be responsible in assisting the General Manager to drive the overall direction of be FITNESS while managing the group exercise department. You are responsible for delivering safe and professional programming while consistently delivering top-notch experiences to current members and prospects. You will help to achieve revenue goals each month while providing the best customer service and hospitality to all members and guests.

You are also responsible for the overall scope of the fitness teams which entails recruiting and training group instructors, on boarding new members into the club, retaining the existing membership base, and sourcing referrals and leads and transitioning the leads into long term clients and members.

EVERY DAY, YOU WILL

Management
  • Responsible for staffing and training all group exercise instructors as well as engaging with members to ensure we are capitalizing on every positive member experience
  • Handle any group exercise issues or inquires in a timely manner
  • Ensure all staff has been trained on policies and procedures in assisting the group exercise department
  • Meet with General Manager to discuss department goals, weekly updates and programming initiatives
  • Promote the company's safety goals and actively work towards ensuring a safe working environment
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Attend special events and activities to promote the club
  • Maintain scheduling, applications, event calendar and all group exercise related activities
  • Work with vendors on maintenance and servicing of fitness equipment related to the department
Financial Accountability
  • Meet and/or exceed club monthly revenue goals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting
  • Help promote paid for services (Pilates, Yoga, Personal Training & Massage) to new members ad additional club services and amenities
Group Fitness
  • Provide a wide variety of classes to a discerning fitness population
  • Ensure classes are of the highest quality of content, safety and physical challenge
  • Present innovative, entertaining and fun classes
  • Remain open and attentive to the changing fitness needs of the membership
  • Deliver an exceptional experience to members, guests and associates
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the fitness club
  • Accurately record each day work, the actual time worked in the appropriate tracking system
  • Actively further corporate objectives and continuously support improvement and positive change
  • Make professional development a consistent priority
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication and social media

Requirements

YOU WILL BE GREAT AT BE FITNESS IF
  • You have an Associates Degree in Kinesiology or equivalent
  • You have a current Group Exercise Certification - ACE, AFAA, ACSM or equivalent. Specialty specific certification required for format taught (i.e., Yoga, Pilates, Les Mills, etc.)
  • You have a current CPR/AED Certification
  • You have at least three to five years' experience in supervisory roles
  • You have the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and then apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • You have the ability to read, understand and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
  • You have the ability to develop and maintain computer records in Word, Excel and other software required by be FITNESS and regulatory agencies
