Position:
We are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator for all import/export items at our South Chesterfield, VA location. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for all inbound and outbound material shipments and inventory. They are also responsible for directing the import and export functions within the shipping and receiving department. Additionally, they will provide leadership, training, mentoring, and coaching to the shipping/receiving employees.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the import and export process for BPA machines and associated parts
  • Provide leadership, training, mentoring, and coaching to the shipping/ receiving employees.
  • Examine inbound receipts, communicating any variances or damages.
  • Record incoming receipts in MRP system, properly tag material, and place in the desired location.
  • Continually inspect and maintain the physical condition of workspace along with the accountability of inventory within the area.
  • Document, manage and communicate material transfer between divisions.
  • Communicate shipment schedules and specifics with vendors and customers.
  • Oversee the responsibility for packaging, recording, and shipping of sales orders, returns, and transfers as required, in a quality manner.
  • Negotiate and arrange transport of goods with various means of carriers including international and expedited shipping.
  • Open claim adjustments and resolve shipment problems with freight companies.
  • Process and communicate international shipping documentation.
  • Prepare and coordinate customs-related documents and follow established shipping procedures.
  • Monitor vendor return shelf and assembly return carts to reduce the turn rate.
  • Maintain control of vendor management material to limit outages or excess and price error.
  • Coordinate daily safety checks on forklift equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of relevant supervisory experience in a logistics/shipping/manufacturing environment required . However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and manage resources, make decisions, solve problem, exercise good judgment and flexibility and maintain budgets and schedules.
  • Expert-level proficiency wish customized Harmonized Shipping Codes, Bill of Lading, Country of Origin etc.
  • High result orientation and cost sensitivity.
  • Highly developed customer and goal orientation.
  • Hands-on mentality, leading by example.
  • Understanding of supply chains and inventory management/ transactions required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills required, experience with MRP systems and MS applications a plus.
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack required; forklift certified.
  • Ability to interact with clients.
