The Director of Clinical Laboratory Chemistry will join the family of dedicated Clinical Laboratory Scientists CLS and other health care professionals living out a mission to heal people in body, mind and spirit. The Director of Clinical Chemistry Laboratory will ultimately be responsible for setting the standard of quality for testing within the General Lab Department of the Shared Lab. The CLIA Medical Laboratory Director will be responsible for the overall Clinical Quality of testing, development of new tests and test procedures, and verification in accordance with federal requirements under CLIA-88, College of American Pathologists (CAP), the State of California, and any other related regulatory or accrediting body affecting clinical activities of the laboratory.
The Director of Clinical Laboratory Chemistry will assure that lab services are quality focused, progressive, competitive, customer service-oriented, and effectively integrated with other the organization’s standards. The laboratory is to operate in compliance with state, local and federal regulations, licensing and accreditation. The Director of Clinical Chemistry Laboratory must have Doctorate PhD degree in Chemistry with 2 year Clinical Chemistry fellowship required.
The Chemistry Laboratory Clinical Director will provide clinical guidance to laboratory personnel performing moderate and high complexity tests while serving as a liaison between referring physicians, administration, and laboratory staff. The Director of Clinical Laboratory Chemistry will teach principles of medical and laboratory procedures to laboratory personnel. Responsible for ensuring that laboratory services contribute positively to high value medical care and disease prevention through service excellence, analytical accuracy, and cost effectiveness; as well as high value financial performance.
The Director of Clinical Laboratory Chemistry will function as Director in charge of all required Clinical Science, New Test Development, Validations, and overall Clinical Quality of the general lab; therefore, this position is the leader in charge of all clinical outcomes of the general lab. This position may be assigned special projects and operations that compel alignment with the lab network or other clinical/functional integration throughout the organization.
