Junior Volunteer Coordinator

Job Title: Junior Volunteer Coordinator Department: Volunteer Position: Temporary - 40 hours/week JOB SUMMARY :Coordinates and assists in the direction of the Summer Junior Volunteer Program. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides training and on-going supervision of the Junior volunteers. Schedules the Junior Volunteers daily. Coordinates and assigns Junior Volunteers throughout the hospital. Develops an evaluation instrument and conducts on-going evaluations and end-of-summer evaluations Performs special projects and fundraisers as assigned, and assists the Coordinator as required Performs additional duties as may by required under the direction of the Coordinator of Volunteer Services. QUALIFICATIONS :High school graduate or equivalent.Computer skills required. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and mainframe system entry.Ability to make decisions, assess problems and determine whether to refer to a supervisor. Understanding and tact in dealing with patients, families, visitors, and/or volunteers. Maintains discretion in handling the confidential nature of the information in the department and hospital. Ability to adapt to a variety of situations, changes in duties and department requirements. Displays verbal ability and clerical perception.
