Position Summary

The role of the Legal Collector reports to the Collection Manager. This position is responsible for assisting with account review, document preparation, and helping accomplish tasks and goals that may be given to the Legal Collections department at any time.

Essential Position Responsibilities

* Review accounts to determine appropriate follow-up and closing procedures * Contact patients and insurance companies to obtain required claim information * Assist patients with establishing a payment plan, as appropriate * Prepare documents necessary for dissemination of medical liens, lawsuits and garnishments to the proper authorities * Responsible for additional projects or duties as assigned by Collection Manager or WRMC in-house counsel * Perform back-up receptionist or cashier duties as needed

Qualifications

* Education: High school diploma or GED * Licensure and Certifications: N/A * Experience: One-year experience with account collections and legal documentation preparation, required.

Work Environment: This position will spend 90% of work time sitting. This position will spend 10% or less of time standing and/or walking short distances.
