DescriptionJOB TITLE: Lead Sales Associate REPORTS TO: Store ManagerSUPERVISES: CashiersRESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the Store Manager in assigned duties, to include cash register operation, shipping and receiving, general office, accounting duties, stocking merchandise, and performing functions in the textbook area.SPECIFIC DUTIES: I. TextbooksA. Assist the store manager with the shelf arrangement of texts.B. Ensure correct pricing of all texts.C. Prepare textbook returns and update textbook information on a timely basis.D. Assist in the processing of text invoices, shipping requisitions, purchase orders, debit memos, and return correspondence.E. Assist in buying back books from students.F. Responsible for order and cleanliness in work area.II. AccountingA. Prepare daily reports recording all sales and cash transactions; submit report to TBC accounting office.B. Analyze vendor statements for proper application of payments, unpaid statements, and vendor contracts as needed; resolve any discrepancies.C. Send out monthly statements to customers.D. Gather and process all payables for corporate (TBC) accounts payable for payment.E. Prepare end-of-month reports.F. Post returned checks and payment of returned checks.G. Extend invoices ensuring correct pricing of all merchandise.H. Assist in maintaining accounts receivable ledger. III. CashierA. Operate cash register and supervise and train cashiers.B. Complete the daily cash report.C. Understand and adhere to check cashing policies.IV. MerchandisingA. Develop and implement merchandising ideas in the store.B. Be familiar with campus activity calendar and design displays that reflect these activities.C. Arrange merchandise on display units.D. Develop and produce signage that is professional.E. Assist store manager in planning special events and sales.Compensation is based experience. We offer an attractive benefits package, including health insurance, 401 (k) savings with employer match, vacation.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS One year experience in retail sales or other areas of customer service.Demonstrated administrative skills.Ability to work well with people.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Required Skills:Prior cash register experience.Ability to deal with the public in a friendly and tactful manner.Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds to seventy (70) pounds.Must be able to pass a background check. Preferred Skills:Computer literateEffective communication skillsPrior retail experience
