About the Role

As Controller, you will plan and direct the accounting operations by managing full-cycle accounting measures as well as play a crucial role in ensuring the financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the company. You will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments. The Controller is a reliable professional with broad knowledge of accounting, financial, and business principles, a strategic thinker and effective leader capable of making the most profitable decisions, guiding the company towards achieving overall business goals and long-term success.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting activities, oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements, and review monthly financial packages including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, with full accountability for trial balance components such as EBITDA, BTL costs, and capex.

Develop and enforce internal controls, such as segregation of duties, to protect company assets and ensure adherence to policies and procedures, reducing the risk of fraud and errors while increasing operational efficiency.

Manage cash flow by monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing cash receipts minus expenses, ensuring organizational liquidity to meet short-term obligations and invest effectively in operations.

Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial results through the preparation and interpretation of quarterly/annual financial reports budgets and forecasts.

Contribute to the development of company growth by providing financial analyses, advice and counsel to the companys leaders on budget, capital investments, contract negotiations, financial understanding and the financial impact of their decisions.

Organize information and statements for audits and both internal and external auditors.

Monitor financial performance metrics, analyze budgeted projections against actual performance, implement corrective actions to address variances, and provide financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support operational and strategic initiatives while reporting significant budget differences and recommending improvements.

Conduct thorough reconciliation procedures, comparing financial records to ensure accuracy and validity of transactions through meticulous matching with corresponding documentation.

Ensure accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal government laws, guidelines, regulations, and standards by meticulously maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, overseeing regulatory reporting, and proactively staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to financial laws and standards.

Collaborate as a thought partner on financial matters with the CFO.

Supervisory Responsibility

Oversee and manage 4 direct reports consisting of a Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, AP Specialist and AR Specialist.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a relevant field is required.

Over 5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years of prior experience as a Controller or Senior Manager at another organization is required.

CPA Certification is preferred.

Previous consumer products goods experience is preferred, but not required.

In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices with thorough understanding of standards under U.S. GAAP.

Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting, ability to synthesize and translate complex financial data and concepts and an in-depth understanding of financial metrics.

Strong demonstrated management and leadership skills including ability to operationalize strategic plans.

Proficient in the use of MS Office, Google Suite, and ERP software.

History of driving optimizations forward and identifying areas for improvements while working collaboratively across both internal and external stakeholders.
