Senior Electrical Engineer

Our client is is looking for an Electrical Engineer on Contract for their Melbourne, FL location to come in and help with the design and troubleshooting of components and systems.Description:Responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budgetDesign, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystemsAbility to complete a technical project independentlyMentor and coach other engineers.Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variableProvide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignmentsDocument component and subsystem specifications and material requirementsAnalyze designs as necessarySpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and servicesSupport the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirementsDevelop prototypes to retire key development risksCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as requiredParticipate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposalsProvide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnelInteract with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progressSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAttend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetingsMentor and coach less-experienced engineersInvolved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various electronics systems.May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others.Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed.Compile and evaluate design and test data.Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches.Skills & Qualifications:MUST HAVE:-12 years work experience troubleshooting electronics-High speed digital or analog or power supplies, dabbled in a little bit of everything, FPGA's more so than processors.-Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical fieldNICE TO HAVE:-Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge-Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines-Knowledge of analog and power electronics, POL supplies, isolated forward or flyback converters, class D amplifiers, MIL-STD-461, MILD-STD-1275, EMI testing, simulations with LTspice. Or work experience in digital CCA design with FPGAs, microcontrollers, DDR4 memory, HD-SDI, Coaxpress, HDMI, high speed transceivers, SPI, UART, I2C-Cadence/Allegro, Matlab, Mathcad, LTspice, FPGA tool suites (Xilinx, altera, intel, PSG, Microchip, Microsemi) Tool Experience-Experience guiding layout of PCBs and reviewing PCB designs before fabricationAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
