POSITION SUMMARY
The Store Support Associate is responsible for providing outstanding, friendly customer service. You will answer general questions from customers involving pricing, returns and location of merchandise. This is not a supervisory position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•Perform assigned tasks such as replenishing merchandise, preparation of products or setting up displays, etc.
•Perform all assigned cleaning functions in accordance with company standard practices.
•Maintain the quality of department's appearance and presentation.
•Scan the purchases of a customer into the cash register efficiently and accurately. (if applicable)
•Recognize or differentiate between the various types of merchandise carried in the store, including differences between varieties of similar classes of products, etc.).
•Bag or package merchandise according to established company policies and procedures.
•Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.
•Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed.
•Maintain solid communication in the department and throughout the organization.
•Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
•Perform all other duties as assigned.
Stocking:
•Breaking down pallets, separating Customer Service products for sales floor, cooler and/or back-room prep area
•Ensures that all Customer Service products are in its right place, so employees and shoppers can find what they need quickly and easily
•Maintains good communication with store management and other associates
•Serves as a back-up in other departments as needed
•Attends department and all store meetings, as assigned, or needed
Inventory:
•Notifies immediate supervisor of out-of-stock products
•Notifies immediate supervisor of price discrepancies
•Must be knowledgeable of merchandise placement and location
•Stock displays using proper rotation procedures
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
As a member of the company, you will exemplify teamwork and is open to and willing to be trained and step in when needed in all similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.
Safety, Loss Prevention and Procedural Compliance:
•Follow safety practices such as: washing hands, wearing a clean uniform per shift, trim, and clean no longer than ¼ of inch, natural fingernails
•Under the direction of immediate supervisor, applies IIPP Procedures, Safety Program and Procedures
•Assists immediate supervisor in Loss Prevention in curbing internal and external theft
•Adheres to all local, state, federal regulations and company policy pertaining to safety and loss prevention
•Complies with all Health Compliance and Food Regulations
•Complies with all OSHA requirements
Cross Training: QUALIFICATIONS
•Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service "Customer Matters Most"
•Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
•Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions

The required qualifications are as follows:EDUCATION
•No experience required, but prefer a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment
•Customer service experience in a similar or comparable work environment, strong work ethic supported by a pleasant and positive attitude of "can do" success
•WORKING CONDITIONS
A Customer Service Store Support Associate may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. SKILLS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to frequently reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 100 lbs. with a lifting aid. And up to 20 lbs. without aid. Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks.
•Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk and move rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary. Must be able to operate related equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
•Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities. Requires knowledge of basic math, weights and measures. Ability to learn section policies and procedures.
•Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Hands are in frequent contact with water and various fruits and vegetables while performing job duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES in Customer Service Department (Retail Associates) (responsibilities include, but are not limited to)
- Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions to all customers and staff
- Responds quickly and in a friendly manner to customer inquiries and complaints
- Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques
- Ability to bag merchandise
- Assists in returning shopping carts and baskets to designated areas
- Reports all irregular issues and problems to the Store Manager for solutions
- Exceeds Customer Service Department's sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures
- Opens & closes assigned cash registers
- Counts opening and closing cash and other transactions for assigned register
- Scans merchandise purchased
- Checks customers' coupons and applies to purchases
- Checks coupons for expiration dates and validity
- Checks IDs for tobacco and alcohol transactions
- Processes purchases quickly and efficiently
- Process returns and credits customers utilizing the Company's return policy procedures
- Conducts transactions professionally
- Works various shifts, days or nights as assigned by Store Manager in accordance with the Company's business needs
- Organizes and stocks Customer Service display areas per store's layouts, planograms and standards
- Setting up and maintaining the condition of the Customer Service Section according to company standards
- Proactively supports any promotional activity within the store and contributes to an effective working environment
- Ensures that all Customer Service products are in its right place, so employees and shoppers can find what they need quickly and easily
•Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions

QUALIFICATIONS:
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
•Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment.
•Must be able to use job related equipment such as a stepping ladder and dollies
•No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred
•Previous experience as a Retail Associate, Cashier, or Grocery Clerk is preferred
•Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without aid
REQUIREMENTS
•Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
•Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
