Summary The Senior Accounting Clerk position is responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer with accounting functions including reporting of the clinic's financial operations. Essential Functions Demonstrate and uphold GBO's values: Pursue Empathetic, Caring Relationships: We care about our patients and each other Embrace the Difficult: We seek challenges and change courageously Take Responsibility: We own our actions, provide solutions, and expect the same from others Be Better: We continuously learn and improve Prepare monthly journal entries, financial statements, reports, account reconciliations, and cost reports Assist auditors during audits and verify report accuracy Prepare federal, state, and other governmental reports such as tax returns and ERISA reports Stay informed of regulations affecting hospital finance and accounting Maintain and review cost center and appropriation accounts for accuracy Prepare reports on data collection changes, budget expenditures, revenues, and account balances Support clerical staff with data tracking and input issues Assist with payroll activities and resolve related issues Participate in staff training and evaluations Maintain confidentiality Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and cost accounting Research skills for data analysis and recommendations Proficiency with computer systems and spreadsheets Ability to analyze financial reports and prepare detailed reports Strong mathematical and ratio analysis skills Effective communication and relationship-building skills Education and Experience Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent experience Experience in healthcare accounting preferred Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred Physical and Environmental Requirements Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs., rarely up to 25 lbs. Regularly sit, stand, climb, bend, and use hands for various tasks Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception Work is performed in an office setting, usually quiet to moderate noise level Potential contact with contagious patients in healthcare setting Job posted by ApplicantPro.
