Position Summary: The Supervisor of Logistics Solutions oversees and optimizes freight transport and marshaling operations within the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (JKJCC). This role involves training, coordination, and implementation of logistics strategies that enhance productivity, improve safety and security, reduce congestion and emissions, and maximize operational efficiency. The Supervisor will serve as the subject matter expert for logistics software and will ensure compliance with all freight handling policies. Key responsibilities include supporting the Manager and Director of Logistics. The applicant will oversee loading dock and marshaling yard operations, and maintain strong collaboration with internal departments, contractors, and event organizers. The pay rate for this position is $38.50 hourly (paid on a bi-weekly basis). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon the candidates relevant skills and experience. Interested candidates must be willing to work full-time onsite at the Javits Center and must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and any additional vaccinations against COVID-19 as recommended by health officials during their employment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the implementation of yard management software for freight and marshaling operations. Oversee staging, loading dock, and marshaling processes for all events. Assist in the training of stakeholders on logistics tools, policies, and best practices. Monitor the storage and handling of empty crates and pallets. Collaborate with contractors for pre-event planning and on-site truck/freight movement execution. Enforce procedures to optimize dock, truck entry/exit, and marshaling efficiency. Identify and report operational inefficiencies with contractors and vendors. Oversee the Trusted Driver Program in collaboration with stakeholders. Support security protocols related to vehicle entry, marshaling, and dock operations. Work with General Contractors to reduce congestion on surrounding streets. Conduct marshaling yard checks and create yard charts to ensure compliance with all General Contractors, vendors and internal users. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, yard operations, or event freight services. Proven experience in developing and applying operational best practices. Hands-on experience with logistics software implementation and user training. Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills. Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
