Job Description
Job Title: Physician Assistant

Job Specialty: General Surgery

Shift: Four 10-hour shifts or Five 8-hour shifts, Days

Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedics

License: Oregon license or willingness to obtain

Certifications: Board Certified PA

Must-Have: Ties to Oregon, such as family in the area or prior residency

Job Description:

- Support Surgical Services and collaborate with physicians to deliver exceptional patient care.
- May be assigned to Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, or ENT.
- Provide needed procedures, including assisting in surgery.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice.
- Assist in room setup and turnover.
- Operate as directed by OR management.
- Ensure proper sterile techniques at all times in surgery.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare staff.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
- Take responsibility for ongoing educational growth.
- Possess basic computer skills and the ability to use a personal computer periodically.
- Maintain physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond to patient care needs.
- Use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring, and positioning.
- Adhere to standard precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
