Job Title: Vice President of Transmission Construction Job Summary: The Vice President of Transmission Construction is a senior executive role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of large-scale transmission construction projects. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the safe and efficient construction of high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and related infrastructure, while meeting stringent regulatory, budgetary, and timeline requirements. The VP of Transmission Construction will play a critical role in advancing the organization’s strategic objectives by driving excellence in construction practices, fostering innovation, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement the overall strategy for transmission construction projects in alignment with company goals. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of directors, project managers, engineers, and construction professionals. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the construction division. Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of transmission construction projects, from conceptual design through project closeout. Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed quality and safety standards. Monitor and manage project risks, resolving issues that arise during the course of construction. Operational Excellence: Drive operational efficiency by implementing best practices, optimizing resource allocation, and leveraging new technologies. Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards. Oversee contract negotiations, vendor management, and procurement activities related to transmission construction. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, utility companies, community groups, and other external stakeholders. Financial Management: Develop and manage the annual budget for the transmission construction division. Oversee financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting. Identify opportunities for cost savings and increased profitability without compromising quality or safety. Innovation & Sustainability: Promote the adoption of innovative construction methodologies and sustainable practices. Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to keep the company at the forefront of the transmission construction industry. Lead initiatives to integrate renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly practices into transmission projects. Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the transmission or power infrastructure sector. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex transmission construction projects. Strong knowledge of high-voltage transmission systems, substation construction, and regulatory compliance requirements. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities. Financial acumen with experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
