Essential Functions:

Clinical Excellence: Performs CT procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages and is expected to be the expert.Exhibits competency and is the resource person in performing and filming CT proceduresDevelops new procedures and deviates from routines when the patient's condition requires it or at the request of the radiologistExhibits competency and is the resource person in knowledge of catheters, guidewires, and sterile tray preparation for invasive CT procedures.Obtains, documents, and oversees accurate pre and post procedure information as applicableFollows and oversees JCAHO patient safety goals as well as quality throughout the CT scan procedureMaintains expert working knowledge of equipment operation and troubleshooting including hardware and software, CT1 and CT2, workstations, printers.Maintains and oversees a clean work area, checks and stocks all supplies in their specific area and verifies pertinent accessories assigned to that roomWorks with physicians and coding specialists to ensure efficient and accurate coding of proceduresDemonstrates a practical problem-solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing.Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider's orders and hospital lab procedures/policies
