Position Summary:The Bookkeeper I will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing essential bookkeeping tasks. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers and a desire to contribute to the success of the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Generate and send customer invoices accurately and on time.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
- Record customer payments and reconcile accounts receivable ledger.
- Match purchase orders with invoices and verify discrepancies.
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Expense Management:
- Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Verify expense receipts and documentation.
- Reconcile employee advances and expense reimbursements.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Generate financial reports as needed for management and stakeholders.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses as requested.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Stay updated with relevant accounting regulations and best practices.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
