Position Summary:The Bookkeeper I will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing essential bookkeeping tasks. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers and a desire to contribute to the success of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Generate and send customer invoices accurately and on time.
    • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
    • Record customer payments and reconcile accounts receivable ledger.
    • Match purchase orders with invoices and verify discrepancies.
  2. General Ledger Maintenance:

    • Record day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger.
    • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
    • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  3. Expense Management:

    • Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
    • Verify expense receipts and documentation.
    • Reconcile employee advances and expense reimbursements.
  4. Financial Reporting:

    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
    • Generate financial reports as needed for management and stakeholders.
    • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses as requested.
  5. Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Stay updated with relevant accounting regulations and best practices.
    • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
