Reception Specialist, OPA University Lake Anchorage, Full time Orthopedic Physicians Alaska *$500.00 signing bonus after 90 days of Full-time employment in this position* Salary Range: $17.50-$27.00 hourly Complimentary orthopedic and primary care at OPA and PCA Medical and dental insurance coverage beginning within 30 days Life insurance Disability insurance 401K Profit sharing Employee Assistance Program Paid time off starting at three weeks per year 7 paid holidays per year Competitive pay and annual compensation reviews Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm Your Role at OPA: As a Reception Specialist at OPA you will greatly contribute to the team by ensuring patient needs are being met by providing outstanding customer service. As part of this role you will answer patient calls, schedule patient appointments, and complete some precertification and verification tasks. What You’ll Do: Provide outstanding customer service to all patients Perform insurance verification and prior authorizations Educate patients on insurance coverage limits and options Work closely with the billing and other departments providing services Collect deposits and co-pays Other duties as assigned by supervisor Why You’ll Excel in This Role: You have knowledge of primary and secondary coordination of benefits You are familiar with CPT and ICD-10 You have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment You have keen organization skills You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and an investigative nature You are a reliable self-starter who embraces professionalism and learning You are efficient, accurate and detail oriented Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Six months of customer service experience Preferred Qualifications: One year of customer service experience in a medical setting Exposure to medical billing and/or pre-certification tasks At OPA, you will enjoy opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative environment and exposure to a full range of orthopedic care with orthopedic, injury walk-in, and rheumatology clinics, an imaging center, athletic training and physical, occupational and massage therapy.
