This position is located at the Southside School of Nursing in Colonial Heights and one day working at our Richmond location.
Hours are 8am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday; Some later days/times will be expected for new student onboarding events.
Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Student Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective new student onboarding for the Richmond Higher Education Institutions. This position oversees, directs, and/or coordinates administrative and general business operations for new students and provides technical assistance and support.
Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate and validate student completion of all required items and tasks needed to matriculate into their selected academic programs. This includes enrollment forms, clinical compliance requirements, access to technology (e.g., Active Directory System access, clinical compliance software, and related software), and uniform ordering and distribution. Establish ongoing communication with students to ensure requirements are met.
- Participate in all new student onboarding events, to include drop-in sessions, new student orientation, welcome sessions, and Campus Connections. Provide an overview of onboarding requirements and demonstrate how to use the designated software applications. Meet with students as needed to confirm access to software applications; troubleshoot any access issues.
- Collaborate with program leaders to ensure that policies and procedures related to new student requirements are maintained and that details of onboarding requirements are current and accurate. Create and maintain standard operating procedures that promote efficient, effective practices and continuous quality improvement. Communicate with department and academic program leaders to promote shared understanding.
- Manage and navigate various software applications related to student onboarding and have a strong understanding of technology tools including the student information system and modules. Collaborate with IT and academic colleagues to troubleshoot any issues with these applications.
- Manage accurate data for reports and communications. Prepare and maintain reports for admissions, program directors, and IT as directed.
- Assist with admissions processes as assigned by Director of Admissions.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Associates Degree (required)
Bachelor Degree (preferred)
Work Experience
- Two years for experience in roles requiring project management with a focus on quality outcomes (preferred)
- One year experience working in Higher Education (preferred)
