Our North America team of 300+ HR experts in compensation, engagement, leadership development, hr strategy and operation, executive search and surveys, draw on expertise from every category of human resources, then assemble flexible consulting solutions that streamline efficiency and strengthen bottom lines **Responsibilities** The role of **Principal: Compensation Consultant** serves to support business development, facilitate external client relationships, support internal cross-practice relationships (e.g. HR Connectors/Producers), and acts as the day-to-day key contact and project director and advisor for ongoing **Compensation Consulting** client engagements as part of the national practice to provide services, analysis, and related consulting and advisory services to clients primarily based in the public sector, higher education, and related areas. **Key Functions and Expected Performance** _Business Development_ + Responsible for sourcing new clients and maintaining current relationships, both through RFP process and other sourcing mechanisms. + Partners across other **HRCC** practices and with HR Connector/Producer team to enhance regional and business development opportunities. Develops and maintains knowledge of products and services provided by Gallagher. + Participates in the contract letter or RFP writing process; serves as a lead on various business development activities. + Responsible for creating and developing external marketing content, including whitepapers and other articles, and attending relevant conferences and other speaking engagement opportunities. _Compensation Consulting Project Directorship_ + Leads project to project as the project director; provides functional management to project team members and acts as primary liaison with client; Uses project management tools to meet budgets and deadlines. + Exercises good judgment, completing work in a timely manner; Keeps others informed of project status and notifies others when deadlines cannot be met; Provides insights and direction to project team members and to the client to ensure efficient and effective management of projects and engagements. + Leverages team resources effectively, to include technology, templates, presentations and reporting, and partnership/collaboration with project team members. + Directs project staff to prepare and organize for planning meetings; leads project management meetings and client interactions. Serves as quality assurance lead for all project deliverables. + Anticipates and responds to client needs & communicates changes to client; manages client’s expectations and project scope; looks for opportunities to expand projects. _Thought Leadership_ + Develops and maintains proficiency in using practice and company systems and consulting tools. + Develops and maintains knowledge of market pricing, salary administration practices, and survey benchmark jobs. Develops knowledge of all types of benefits: health, life, disability, retirement, vacation, severance, perquisites, SERPs and employment agreements. Develops knowledge of strategic HR processes: succession planning, span of control, performance management, incentive compensation, etc. + Develops and maintains an understanding of the impact of legal and regulatory requirements on benefit and compensation programs as well as broader HR implications. + Integrates industry specific knowledge & executive roles with knowledge of benchmark jobs and market pricing. + Serves as a thought leader internally, cross-practice, with clients, and as appropriate in external settings. + Develops and maintains knowledge of industry specific organizations, management structure, benchmark jobs, industry terminology, HR trends and best practices, HR operations and strategies, and financial reports. + Develops and maintains knowledge of regulatory impact on organizations. Develops and maintains knowledge of industry benefits and performance measures and standards, business strategies, reimbursement, trends affecting our work, and tax exempt organizations + Develops and maintains knowledge of industry performance data, and governance practices. Integrates industry knowledge with knowledge regarding governance and regulation of total compensation. _Staff Management_ This position provides direct management for other positions, ranging from analyst to senior consultant. Provides mentorship and project-based management to project team members. This position reports to the National Managing Director of the practice. **Qualifications** Required: Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required. **Education and Certifications:** + Master's degree is preferred. + Professional certifications in compensation, total rewards, or HR (CCP, PHR/SPHR, IPMA-CP/SCP, SHRM-CP/SCP, etc.) more broadly are preferred. **Experience and Skills** **:** + Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a related field, with specific responsibilities related to compensation and classification or total rewards is necessary. + Demonstrable presentation skills to clearly convey complex blends of business and technical matters to a range of audiences, to articulate points clearly and concisely, and to negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders is necessary. + Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of clients and colleagues, is necessary. + Demonstrable project management, planning, and organization skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously is required. + Continuous improvement attitude and the ability to suggest and implement best practices is necessary. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel is required. **Additional Information** Click Here (srvr.com/is/DigitalAssets/EligiblityRequirements/index.html) to review our U.S. Eligibility Requirements We offer competitive salaries and benefits, including: medical/dental/vision plans, life and accident insurance, 401(K), employee stock purchase plan, educational expense reimbursement, employee assistance program, flexible work hours (availability varies by office and job function), training programs, matching gift program, and more.
