We want your knowledge and expertiseJob Summary and QualificationsThe Dietitian is responsible for screening patients according to hospital policy. She/He develops and implements nutrition care plans and provides nutrition counseling to individual patients/clients and participants in group nutrition classes. The Dietitian demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, education, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the following age groups: neonate/infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Immediately contacts physician with any questions or irregularities regarding diet order; shows no hesitancy in making initial contact · Assess appropriateness of current nutritional care; initiates changes if necessary · Regularly monitors nutritional problems and follows through appropriately. · Integrates nutrition care with other professionals; communicates and documents effectively, i.e., records, reports, etc · Develops, implements, and evaluates individual care plans based on client needs, knowledge, and resources · Regularly attends and participates in discharge planning on assigned duties. · Assess appropriateness of current nutritional care; initiates changes if necessary · Ensures accuracy in nutrition supplement orders and administration; follows up to correct problems · Demonstrates a consistent level of performance, continually strives to make the best use of time, assists all supportive personnel, reports any incomplete assignments to ensure continuity of patient food service and any related activities · Provides patient and/or family education that promotes healthy behavior, supports recovery and enables the patients to be involved in decisions about their own care. · Able to identify potential or actual victims of abuse and understands proper reporting mechanism. · Able to modify job duties and communicate with customers in an age appropriate manner. · Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain using age appropriate interventions. · Computer skills necessary to learn MediTech system for documentation · Skills necessary to communicate with patients, family, medical staff and peers · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public · Markets programs and self effectively to professionals and consumers.
