is seeking a

Credit Analyst intern

to work in its Baxter, MN branch. This role provides opportunities to learn how to analyze and spread commercial/business financials for the purposes of loan approvals. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team environment and possess a strong desire to learn.
Meet with lenders monthly to go over loans coming due/Annual Review list/Ticklers
Request financial information from borrowers on upcoming annual reviews and renewals.
Update ticklers when financials received
Run credit reports
Pull Secretary of State Good Standing Certificates and UCC Searches
Assist in spreading of financial statements
Enter financial information into the Excel loan presentation spreadsheet
Do prep work on the loan presentation, updating loan balances, NAICS information, etc.
Enter work requests into the queue
Pull comps for real estate evals
Scan loan documents.
Spread and analyze interim and year-end financial statements, borrowing base certificates, personal financial statements and tax returns, ensuring timely completion of required reports.
In conjunction with Business Bankers, assist in the preparation of written commercial loan analyses in a concise but complete format identifying major trends, issues. Develop a strong foundation in analysis in order to understand and to identify credit risks. Use that foundation to help Business Bankers make informed lending decisions.
Work with Business Bankers to ensure financial information from clients and prospects is processed and distributed in an accurate, timely and consistent manner to ensure financial risk is managed appropriately.
Monitor loan covenants and reporting requirements as necessary. Check covenant compliance as annual and interim financial statements are received and spread.
Coordinate with other staff to ensure timely completion of month-end reporting as necessary.
Build on acquired skills to analyze increasingly complex companies and industries, eventually assuming more responsibility for credit approval presentations.
Perform annual reviews of existing credit relationships as required by policy.
Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.
Requirements
Working towards a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting, preferred. Ideally, in the last semester or 2 of college, but not required.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel (capabilities, design, and manipulation of data), Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
Strong interpersonal skills, including working in a team environment.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
Must be able to maintain a professional image.
Comfortable in interaction with Business Bankers, senior management, and customers.
Responsible for meeting timelines for production
Occasional travel may be required for training or other business-related issues.
