Zing Recruiting is seeking a skilled

Senior level Accountant

for our partner who makes custom designs and builds for stadiums, arenas, in the Louisville, KY area.

The Senior Accountant assists the Controller in managing the company’s accounting functions. This role helps to ensure that proper accounting and recording of company transactions are performed in an accurate and timely manner and produces financial and other key reports for management. This role also helps to identify and prevent inconsistencies in financial data and helps to set up control systems. The position reports directly to the Controller.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, advanced degree preferred. CPA preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience. Construction or manufacturing industry knowledge highly preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced knowledge in Excel Experience with invoicing, month-end closing and auditing procedures. Knowledge of standard contract terms (hourly, lumps sum, not-to-exceed, etc.) and how they are applied in the billing process. Must maintain a professional working relationship with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and peers.

Responsibilities

Supports the Controller in the daily operations of the accounting department including: General ledger entries, reconciliations, month-end, closings, presentation of balance sheet, income statement results and analysis. Review and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and/or income statements. Compile Financial Department Statements Ensure quality control of financial transactions. Sales Commission Statements and Entry Inventory reconciliation and physical audit. Revenue and expenditure variance analysis. Support month and end-year closing activities. Manage all aspects of tax requirements. Support interim and year end audit requirements with outside accounting firm.
