School Nutritionist

DescriptionPosition:Hamadeh Educational Services is seeking a School Nutritionist to join our team You will Manage and oversee all aspects of the wellness and nutrition programs at the Academy consistent with the State, federal, local, HES and district's guidelines, procedures and policies.Academy Mission:The Academies mission is to provide their students with a quality education that focuses on a core curriculum and international cultures including the study of language. The academies provide an education of the whole child by integrating different diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to their college-preparatory program serving families in the Greater Detroit area.Responsibilities:Plans school-meal menus that meet the USDA nutritional requirements and Michigan Department of Education guidelinesDevelops programs, workshops, and activities designed to promote health and wellness awareness among the school communityPlans alternative menus for students with special needs, collaborating with parents and medical care providersProvides guidance for planning, overseeing preparation, and cooking meals to meet USDA nutritional requirements and the Academy's wellness policyImplements and manages planned nutrition menu in compliance with applicable requirements and regulationsAdheres to the sanitation and safety procedures following the Michigan Food Health Code and HACCP guidelinesPerforms other duties as may be assigned, this list is not all inclusiveRequirements:Must possess a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in the study of Nutrition Science or related fieldThorough knowledge of state food health codesMust be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office SoftwareMust possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience working in culturally diverse settingAbility to work independently and within a team environmentFlexible open minded, self-driven team memberMust be authorized to work in the USJob Type: Full-timeHamadeh Educational Services is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
