Position Details: The Lead Wireless Network Engineer role will be responsible for Grainger's network deployments across multiple disciplines with expertise in wireless environments ensuring consistency, high-availability, capacity, and security through implementing solutions aligning with team goals. You will be involved in design responsibilities, cross-departmental coordination to align goals and requirements, and functioning as the lead deployment engineer to guide project teams in building and enhancing Grainger's Cloud network, security, and service deployments. You will demonstrate a history of network design leadership in a technical role, earning trust by collaborating, thinking big, diving deep, and being a catalyst for positive change. You Will: Lead wireless network design & deployment within Distribution Centers, branches, Office spaces, etc. Lead network migrations and deployment projects, including aspects of technical project management and hands-on configuration of network devices. Collaborate with other teams including architecture, security, monitoring/tools, and business groups. Demonstrate technical leadership, including mentoring others and modeling behaviors and competencies associated with displaying initiative, customer focus, embracing curiosity, acting with intent and urgency. Engage with vendors and consultants to build project business cases, equipment quotes, and Statements of Work (SOWs) to satisfy team needs. Create engineering and operational standards, procedures, and metrics. Hold self and others accountable to on-time delivery of commitments and regular appropriate communications of status to business leaders. You Have: Experience in a Wireless Network Engineering role (including leading projects and design efforts, not just operations, support, and deployment) Experience designing and deploying complex multi-vendor enterprise cloud network & security architectures (FWs, ELB/ALBs, DNS, network segmentation, IDS/IPS, DLP, WAF, R&S, VPCs, TGW, EC2, Security Groups) - leading design & projects, not just deployments or operations. Knowledge of authentications methods including RADIUS and 802.1x Proficient with Automation tools (such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Python) Working knowledge of security and audit standards (PCI DSS, CIS, ISO, and SOC2) Exposure to DevOps tools including Bitbucket, Jenkins, Git or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, IT Security, or related field Experience designing network or security configuration in more than one Cloud environment (i.e., both AWS and Azure) Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Juniper Mist wireless environments Experience with Network Security Controls & Visibility Tools (monitoring, encryption/decryption & inspection, Splunk, VPC traffic mirroring) WS Certified Advanced Networking Specialist certification.
