Business Analyst Contract Duration 6+ MonthsJob Description:Requirements Gathering: The Business Analyst collaborates with stakeholders, including business users, project managers, and developers, to gather and document detailed business requirements. Conduct interviews, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to elicit requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the business needs. Analyze and validate requirements, ensuring they are feasible and aligned with project objectives.Documentation of Process Flows: Create clear and concise process flow diagrams, mapping out current and future state processes. Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with stakeholders to validate process flows and ensure accurate representation of business operations.Test Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive test plans, including test objectives, and test cases (including negative tests) based on gathered requirements. Coordinate with technology development teams to ensure appropriate test environments are set up and ready for testing activities. Execute and manage test activities, including test execution, defect management, and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders to perform user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring alignment with business requirements.Project Support: Work closely with project managers, providing support throughout each project lifecycle phase. Assist in project planning, tracking progress, and managing project documentation. Contribute to project risk management and issue resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Creation and distribution of meeting minutes for meetings you lead; as well as assistance with note-taking and minutes for other project meetings as needed.Job Responsibilities: Project Planning and Monitoring for BA-related Activities: Assist project managers in developing detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress against established plans, identify potential risks or issues, and propose mitigation strategies. Stakeholder Management for BA-related Activities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units, IT departments, and external vendors to ensure clear communication and coordination throughout the project. Facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and presentations to update stakeholders on activity progress, risks, and issue resolution. Documentation and Reporting: Create comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and process flows. Develop and maintain project artifacts, such as the business requirements document (BRD), test plan, and process flow. Assist the project manager in preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate activity status, risks, and issues to senior management and PMO as requested. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve project management methodologies, tools, and templates to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness. Identify areas for process optimization and contribute to the development of best practices within the PMO. Provide recommendations for streamlining workflows and implementing standardized project management practices.Required Soft Skills: Willing to step in and help the program/project manager Exhibits autonomy Independent judgment ProactiveRequired Education and Certifications: Previous work experience is more importantMust Haves: TBD years as a Business Analyst Strong experience with Microsoft Office- Visio, Word, Excel Able to translate technical termsNice to Have: Previous Banking/financial institution experienceProject: The candidate will be working on 1 of 2 projects that are just in the beginning phases. Responsible for gathering requirements, documenting process flows, test planning, and testing management.
