Job Type Full-time, Part-timeDescriptionShifts: 8:00am-4:30pm Wages: Starting at 15.00 per hour and increases with years of experiencePUBLIC RELATIONS: Understands that she/he represents Eldercare of Bemidji in every exchange and strives to do so in a positive manner.Understands that excellent customer service is the highest form of public relations and her/his role in providing the highest level of customer service.RESIDENTS:Understands and observes the need for strict resident confidentiality.Offers resolution of or a visit from the appropriate individual who may offer resolution of any dislikes or concerns and communicates these actions to the director.Understands and complies with the responsibilities of a mandated reporter for vulnerable adults.OPERATIONS:Operates mops, squeegees, and vacuum cleaners required for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls and furniture.Replace paper supplies, hand soap, restroom supplies and other items.Cleans resident's rooms; vacuums areas of carpet, sweeps and mops, cleans bathroom floors, stool, sink and mirror.Cleans public rest room; toilets, sinks, mirrors, empty garbage, check paper towels, toilet paper.Cleans tub room; sweeps and mops floor, cleans tub, sink, toilet and mirror.Dusts all wood work and furniture in building.Cleans windows in doors and common areas inside and out.Transports dirty laundry from the wings to the soiled linen room and sorts articles.Takes sorted articles to the laundry loads, activates and empties washing machines and dryers.Folds, stacks or hang articles; pressing and mending personal clothing as required.Returns personal articles to appropriate resident room and distributes linen and other laundry supplies to the storage rooms on the wings.Maintains department works areas, equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly manner.Attends in-service as directed by the director.Participates in and promotes resident rounds.BUDGET:Participates in control of costs through proper use of equipment, appropriate use of supplies and effective, efficient organization of duties.Understands the correlation between census and income and that expenses must be reduced in times of low census including adjustment of staff hours.BUILDING:Takes ownership in the condition and cleanliness of the facility. Responsible for helping to maintain the facility in a safe and clean manner by picking up debris on the floors and wiping up spills.Executes all duties in a conscientious manner being aware of safety hazards associated with the position's role.Aware of role in disaster plans for the facility.Responsible for reporting the need for repairs to the director.EMPLOYEES:Follows established chain of command concerning department and facility business.Presents a neat appearance (good hygiene, clean uniform, etc.) and wears name badge at all times. RequirementsJob Qualifications:Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to learn and follow the housekeeping/laundry procedures.Able to function in a nursing home setting and be tactful, pleasant and friendly to residents, staff and guests.Genuine liking and respect for the elderly and physically and mentally challenged.Ability to work independently and with supervision.Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.Required to complete Drug screen and TB test upon employment. Required to complete DHS background study upon employment. Salary Description $15-17.25/ Per hour
