Randstad Federal is seeking a Construction Program Manager in support of a federal program at Department of Interior

location: Frederick, Maryland

job type: Contract

salary: $70 - 80 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities
The CPM must also meet the following requirements

  • Meets the minimum of four (CPM II) or six (CPM III) years construction engineering or construction management experience.

  • Possesses construction technical competencies and qualifications to verify that a specific level of workmanship was obtained.

  • Experienced in managing programs that include multiple tasks and projects, while remaining able to successfully plan and manage staff, budgets, schedules, and client interactions for large projects and tasks.

  • Experienced in organizing, directing, and coordinating strategic planning activities, and assisting in developing goal delineation, providing guidance for building operational plans, and specifying measurable outcomes to include capital outlay planning efforts in a consolidated strategic planning process and prioritizing those initiatives.

  • Demonstrates a deep knowledge of construction scheduling methods and familiarity with the use of scheduling software.

  • Proficient with computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Adobe Acrobat Professional, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD; and RS Means/CostWorks.

  • Must have the agility and dexterity to perform required duties involving moderate walking over rough, uneven, or slippery surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders, or similar activities such as repeated lifting of moderately heavy objects less than 50 lbs (such as testing or measuring equipment and regular visits to construction sites).

  • Possesses the strong communication skills required to convey complex concepts in an effective, concise, and authoritative manner in English both orally and in writing, with extensive experience in preparing various types of professional correspondence.

  • Experienced in developing, organizing, and maintaining complex construction management activities including submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processing.

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of residential building design criteria, construction guide specifications, construction industry best practices and acceptable techniques (such as proper applications of construction materials and methods of installation).

  • Ability to accurately calculate construction costs for changes, price the value of needed work, and provide recommendations for equitable adjustments.

  • Ability to monitor the preparation of contractor as-built activities to ensure that the required documents are being prepared on an on-going basis.

  • Ability to review contractor submissions of as-built drawings for completeness and accuracy and advise in writing the appropriate Government personnel as to the acceptability of such submissions.

  • Ability to identify critical and long lead-time materials and recommend procurement strategies to prevent negative impact on quality, cost, and schedule.

  • Completed the 30 Hour OSHA Construction Training within the past two years.


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and at least 6 years of experience
