Essential Functions Manage a portfolio of multiple assigned internal or customer?related projects that span one or multiple business lines Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, customer relationships, communications, budget, change, risks, and issues Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to full production deployment across global facilities Define the statement of work, specifications, and test requirements by directly interfacing with product line management, Engineering, R&D, business line lead, or external customer Identify the need for agility and apply appropriate tools Closely works with sales to ensure commercial targets are being met Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards Monitor, track, and adjust outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables Head project meetings, internally and at the customer site, and provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, to customers and management Contribute to establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and trainings to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization Contribute to the coaching, mentoring, and project shadowing of new and less experienced team members Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations Company representation at fairs and at the customer Support of marketing activities and PR (mainly tech articles) Qualifications Degree in physics, optics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering or equivalent 10+ years previous experience or equivalent in project management Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques Understanding of the sales process Preferably understanding of six?sigma (DMAIC) methodology Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem?solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem?solving capabilities Read and understand assembly drawings, blueprints, work orders, and work instructions Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment and fast?growing team Ability to communicate and interact effectively with customers and various levels of technical staff Conflict resolution and negotiation PC skills: Excel, Word, Project & familiarity with mechanical and optical design software German and English business fluent, another foreign language is a plus Willingness to travel occasionally (in Europe and worldwide) What we offer A versatile and challenging position alongside a highly competitive employment package within our dynamic and successful corporation in a growing and future?proof industry.
