Extrusion Specialist

BASE SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 9:00pm to 5:15am

POSITION SUMMARY

The Extrusion Specialist works as part of the extrusion team operating all equipment within the extrusion process, monitoring work activities, and ensuring the quality of the parts produced.

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Audit work activities of extrusion processes
• Comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures
• Regular/dependable attendance required
• Flexibility of work hours including overtime
• Use of hand tools and machinery is required
• Must be able to work well with little or no supervision
• Operating hand tug and hoists
• Participates in WWS's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements

Additional Responsibilities:

• Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
• Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 0-1 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock, vibration, and seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection. Must be willing and able to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, talk, hear and move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 88 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently grip up to 60 pounds. The employee must occasionally push and pull up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Tools and Equipment Used

PPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), metal rack, anti-fatigue mat, CNC machine, step stool, chop saw.
