American Trailer World (ATW) is North Americas leading manufacturer, distributer and retailer of professional and consumer grade trailers, truck equipment, and parts and accessories. The company formed in 2016 when the nations two leading trailer companies, American Trailer Works and Big Tex Trailers merged in a deal led by Bain Capital. ATW has approximately, 5,000 employees and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. ATWs nationally recognized brands include Big Tex Trailers, PJ Trailers, BWise Trailers, CM Truck Beds, Dakota Bodies, Carry-On Trailer, RC Trailers, and Big Tex Trailer World. Its products are sold to dealers, retailers, big box retailers and other OEMs, all of which serve a variety of end markets including agriculture, construction, landscaping, recreational and general industrial markets.
Job Overview
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will be responsible for the expansion of new key accounts and territories by leveraging our comprehensive hauling solutions for the enclosed (cargo) trailer market. The primary responsibility for this role will be to build and help RC Trailers acquired new relationships / accounts.
This SAM should be well familiar with enclosed / cargo market (including RC Trailer products as well as competitor offerings), concepts, practices and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected from this role. Understand what motivates Dealers and Retail Customers to buy and know how to mine those needs and desires in an effective way.
Job Responsibilities
- directly with assigned strategic accounts / territories to ensure growth of RC Trailers positioning within these strategic accounts.
- major new business based upon targeted markets.
- and executes well defined travel schedule that is aligned with sales targets and goals potentially road-showing trailers for new accounts.
- accounts by providing technical assistance, monitoring customer activity and inventory movement, evaluating our position relative to the overall business, and establishing a professional rapport with customers.
- effective in person market reviews by providing industry trends, sales techniques, application of products, and brand value proposition in various markets.
- changes in products and value propositions by evaluating results and competitive developments; assisting with determining the cost effectiveness of implementing new products and product price points.
- customers on our products, their use and competitive features and functions within the marketplace.
- with cross functional teams to ensure growth and customer experience goals are achieved.
- accurate Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Sales performance to targets by defined book of business.

Education Experience Required
- Detail orientated, customer focus, information seeking, willingness to learn, enjoy fast paced team environment.
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably within the enclosed / cargo trailer market
- communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude for building strong client relationships.
- outside sales and account management experience in a B2B environment.
- negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel 80% with frequent overnight stays.
