Tesla is currently seeking skilled Technicians with expertise in quality and technical quality programs and processes within manufacturing. These professionals will play a vital role in the 4680 Cell quality operations program at Gigafactory Texas. As a Quality Technician, your responsibilities are to conduct daily operational objectives set forth by the Quality Team.

Shift: 5:30AM-5:30PM or 5:30PM-5:30AM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday

OR
Shift: 5:30AM-5:30PM or 5:30PM-5:30AM Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday

Responsibilities

  • Operate in the 'inspect, diagnose and repair' mindset
  • Work closely with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality
  • Comprehend current production quality trends based on dashboards or from occurrences in the line
  • Execute timely corrective action for quality mitigation and containment
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation and perform daily audits aligned with control plans
  • Monitor quality, determine the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions and countermeasures
  • Analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board
Requirements
  • Ability to wear PPE, which may include a full-face respirator and coveralls as needed due to working with hazardous chemicals
  • Experienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred
  • Experience with extensive problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
