The incumbent oversees the daily operations of the tutoring and supplemental instruction services offered within the building. The Center for STEM Learning at the University of Mississippi invites applications for the position of Coordinator of the STEM Student Success Center (SSSC). This 12-month full-time staff position carries administrative and leadership responsibilities. Examples of Work Performed Ensures that the SSSC is student-facing and fulfills the mission of the Center for STEM learning. Manages designated spaces within the Duff Center to facilitate tutoring and supplemental instruction. Coordinates tutoring from multiple STEM departments to ensure availability of tutoring services to students in the STEM Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Center. Partners with Supplemental Instruction Program manager to ensure availability of supplemental instruction services to students in the STEM Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Center. Manages student help desk within the SSSC to orient students and respond to questions about STEM learning. Ensures adequacy of facilities in the SSSC. Communicates with faculty in the Duff Center to ensure effectiveness of services. Collaborates with colleagues in STEM departments, Student Success, and Student Services to keep up to date with student programming. Regularly assesses performance of the SSSC as required by the Director. Performs similar or related duties as assigned. Essential Functions The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department. Operates SSSC to serve student learning needs. Coordinates tutoring from multiple STEM departments to ensure availability of tutoring services to students in the SSSC. Partners with Supplemental Instruction Program manager to ensure availability of supplemental instruction services to students in the SSSC. Coordinates with STEM faculty and STEM Learning Center staff to ensure effectiveness of SSSC services. Provides leadership and guidance to support staff in managing internal operations. Minimum Education/Experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field AND Experience: One (1) year of experience related to the duties described above.
