Description Scope of Responsibilities As the Chief Information Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological direction of the association. Your mission will be to lead and innovate, ensuring our technology strategies align with and propel our core business goals forward. You will bring hands-on leadership to our Technology Team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure our technology infrastructure is robust, secure, and agile, capable of meeting the dynamic needs of our association. Key Responsibilities Strategy and Leadership Collaboratively set and execute strategic and tactical IT objectives to support the association’s business strategies and member needs. Offer hands-on leadership, directly engaging with technology projects and team activities to ensure high standards and alignment with business goals. Continually assess and evolve our technology operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Maintains policies and procedures related to the technology priorities of the association. Team Development and Management Lead, develop, and expand the internal Technology Team, promoting a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and service excellence. Directly manage technology staff, offering coaching and personal development opportunities to elevate team capabilities. Balance in-house and external resources effectively to exceed service goals and optimize resource utilization. Technology Infrastructure Design and oversee the implementation of the association’s IT infrastructure strategy, including data management, cybersecurity, business applications, and digital presence. Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of all technology systems and infrastructure. Lead the Association as it revamps its core CRM/AMS system. Drive the development of digital infrastructure projects that cater to the association’s needs while ensuring the security and integrity of all systems. Proactively manage data analytics initiatives, providing critical insights to support organizational objectives. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Foster strong relationships across all departments to understand technology needs and deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and strategic outcomes. Act as the primary liaison for technology vendors and consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with association goals. Lead technology forums and contribute IT insights at association conferences and in newsletters, keeping the organization at the forefront of industry trends. Coordinates the annual Technology Conference and participates in other AGC-sponsored events and newsletters. Budget and Resource Management Oversee the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for projects, operations, and capital investments. Maintain a keen awareness of technological advancements, applying insights to drive cost efficiency and operational improvements. Requirements Qualifications Proven experience in IT leadership roles, with a strong emphasis on strategy development and hands-on management. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing technology teams. Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies, trends, and practices. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to excellence. Relevant industry certifications and higher education qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields are highly desirable. Association Experience a plus.
