Job Purpose

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for performing and initiating all activities in support of environmental health and safety initiatives ensuring effective and efficient compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and agencies, managing facility EHS processes to protect employee, company, the environment, and provide a safe and healthy work place.

Primary Role & Responsibilities
  • 80% active on production floor coaching, auditing and training employees in safe behavioral safety activity.
  • 20% administrative activities to ensure reporting & compliance.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and conduct safety, orientation and environmental training. Further develop training programs in a manner that raises employee's awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.
  • Conducts and monitors incident reporting and investigations.
  • Inspect facility to identify existing or potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Recommend corrective/preventive measures to reduce risk.
  • Analyze and update policies, procedures and plans in accordance with governmental or company guidelines.
  • Promote a safe working environment and increase safety awareness.
  • Develop and coordinate loss prevention training (Safety, Health & Hygiene) for entire facility.
  • Identifies, monitors, evaluates and tracks all EHS activities through audits, statistical analysis and computerized record keeping.
  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communication within the organization.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with employee safety committee, department managers and employees.
  • Continually improve, evaluate, implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Generate reports and documentation as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory record keeping requirements standards for regulators or internal requirements.
  • Manage EHS record keeping requirements, prepare and organize EHS files for audits. Work collaboratively with plant operations to develop sustainable EHS programs and processes.
