CNC Operator (2nd Shift)

Pay Rate: $23.25/hour
Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday, 2:15 PM - 12:45 AM (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Duration One Year
Location: Fenton, MO

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Setup, layout, and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • Read blueprints or job orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions (fixtures, cutting speeds, depth of cut) to determine the sequence of operations.
  • Select, position, and secure tools in the tool holder.
  • Position and secure the workpiece in holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures.
  • Move controls to position the tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
  • Set up fixtures and start the machine.
  • Read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Observe the operation of the machine and verify the conformity of machined workpieces to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Follow all company rules and safety policies.
  • Discuss errors in diagrams or production orders with the supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
Core Competency Requirements:
  • Perform assembly-type functions using hand or power tools.
  • djust, trim, and fit parts to close tolerances.
  • Follow visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct.
  • Perform testing of assembled products as needed.
  • Make up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, and seal finished products.
  • Meet efficiency rates.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Work within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE (steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses).
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor or team leader.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition (5S).
  • Be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervision.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of previous CNC experience preferred.
Physical Needs:

  • bility to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • bility to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • bility to stand 90% of the shift.
