The Student Ultrasonographer works with a registered ultrasonographer to complete ultrasound exams. The student prepares patients for exams, screens patients for procedures, transports patients, completes exam worksheets, stocks and prepares exam rooms; assist in the performance of ultrasound exams. Assist the registered sonographer in the completion of exams and procedures and works under the supervision of registered ultrasonographer to complete quality and professional ultrasound exams.Description

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited Ultrasound Program.
  • Sonographic Principles and Instrumentation for ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required.
  • Advanced anatomy knowledge - Ultrasound physics.
  • Proper sterilization techniques.
  • Professional bedside manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and Non-Invasive Vascular equipment.
  • Provide ongoing patient assessment through observation of patient and records
