Business Manager Position Work Hours: 15-20 hours a week. 3-4 Days a week. During parish office hours. Description: The Business Manager is responsible for maintaining all financial transactions and records of the parish according to Diocesan Policy, Keeping the Pastor and Financial Council current on all financial matters involving the parish (including all contracts with outside contractors) and providing office support when needed.

Job Duties: A/R (collections) and A/P. Payroll reporting and recording according to the Diocese. Monthly Reconciliations of bank accounts and collections. Journal entries (Diocesan and parish). Prepares and reviews all period ending financial statements. Budget preparation with support from the Pastor and the Finance Council. Write thank you letters to contributors as needed. Records and tracks all contributions for the Annual Bishop's Appeal. Prepare end-of-year contribution statements for parishioners. Prepares the parish's annual Stewardship Report for fiscal year-end. Provides all paperwork and support needed for the parish audit. Researches, hires and negotiates all services with vendors and contractors as needed. Responsible for reporting all required forms to the appropriate agency in a timely manner. Conduct and prepare all necessary records for quarterly Finance Council meetings. Provide support to the Parish Secretary/DRE as needed. Qualifications: Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook. Good organizational skills. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to work efficiently and independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. College degree and/ or 3-5 years of pertinent business/accounting experience.
