The project requires getting existing hosted services to work together and harvesting existing on-premise services as required. Services may include PDF file hosting, transforms, viewers, preflight, imposition, workflow automation, and print production. New API based serverless cloud-native (AWS, Lambda, SNS) microservices will be developed and deployed on an existing SaaS platform with a mature Lake House. The work will be done in a Scrum (Agile) and automated environment. Security, performance, reliability and cost will be key metrics to optimize. A multidisciplinary intern team will be formed to include software development, CI/CD (Gitlab, Jenkins), Quality Development Engineering, User Experience Design, and Product Management. The project will take the services from start, all the way to production and the hope that by the end of the summer be running with real customers. Additionally, explore best practices for early security vulnerability identification. The project may also include opportunities for Patents. Our Interns will apply their education to meaningful projects in a team environment alongside a technical mentor. You will be exposed to many levels of management within our company concluding with an end of summer presentation to the executive team. Throughout the summer you will have the opportunity to acquire technical and professional skills, to participate in team building activities, and to enjoy social events in the Rocky Mountain region. **Job Duties and Responsibilities** + Our Interns will apply their education to meaningful projects in a team environment alongside a technical mentor. You will be exposed to many levels of management within our company concluding + Recommends solutions to problems/issues that impact the project + Determines and examines software alternatives + Contributes to project planning + Constructively challenges and improves processes related to the specific assignment + Documents own work + Present project overview and summary to executive team at end of internship Additional Information: Will include creating new or modifying an existing microservices based Ricoh TotalFlow Cloud applications running in the AWS ecosystem. **QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)** + Working towards - B.S., M.S., or PhD. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field + Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or enrolled to continue their education in an accredited graduate program + Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher + Students are to successfully complete all required screenings prior to hire **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** Required Skills: + Java, Python, JavaScript (NodeJS), C++ or other similar programming language + Knowledge of data structures and algorithms Preferred Skills: + REST APIs + AWS + Docker + Jenkins + Agile Scrum software development experience + AWS Lambda + Microservice development experience Ricoh is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer -- Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled.
