Our Exercise Specialists assist patients in completing a routine exercise program under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Exercise Specialists help demonstrate the exercises to the patients and then assist the patients in completing a series of exercises that make up a comprehensive individual exercise program. Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruct patients with their exercise program under the direction and guidance of the physical therapistCleans, sanitizes, and prepares exam rooms, tables, and equipment in a timely and efficient mannerAssists with the overall cleanliness of the entire clinic, including but not limited to, scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying trash receptacles, and contributing to the general tidiness of the clinicAppropriately schedules appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and maximize the overall schedule and each provider's timeAssists patients with filling out new patient paperwork and outcome measuresPromptly collects patient copayments at the time of serviceAccurately addresses patient questions and redirects any questions that require further assistance to the appropriate person or departmentPerforms other duties as necessary or assigned Skills and QualificationsKnowledge of the fundamentals of exercise scienceKnowledge of healthcare terminology and current medical office practices and proceduresExcellent customer service and patient care skillsAbility to multitaskExcellent communication skills Education and ExperienceExperience working with patients in a healthcare or physical therapy setting preferredEducation in the field of exercise science preferredProficient experience with computers. Specifically with Microsoft Office (most notably with Word and Excel) and Google SheetsPhysical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at timesRequires extensive standing and walkingRequires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patientsRequires frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouchingMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
