Delivery Manager

The Company

DataX Connect have partnered with a leading and innovative data centre owner operator looking for a Delivery Manager to be based out of their Dallas office. This position is to work on their Phoenix Campus construction on a remote basis.

Our client are looking for people who believe theres a different way to deliver great projects and can easily adapt to change in a quickly growing organisation. With a continuous strive to create great partnerships with our clients, contractors and supply chain partners through transparent communications, humble and curious collaboration, and a zealous focus on consistent execution of the most important 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transparent and unmanaged communications, escalating risks and issues that require mitigation and/or resolution.
  • Work cross-functionally with Solutions Engineering, Design, Safety, Supply Chain, Commissioning and Operations to ensure or projects are delivered through the Compass Program.
  • Participate in design coordination calls, track upcoming design packages against need-by dates, and assess Design Bulletin impacts on cost and schedule.
  • Ensure that construction managers, safety manager and scheduler are consistently and correctly performing the Project Disciplines in alignment with the Compass Program, escalating all issues, and providing unmanaged updates and visibility into the project.
  • Execute the bid process using the Compass standard for bid solicitations, RFP package development, and bid proposal analysis.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with our supply chain partners and contractors, and manage the scope interfaces between them.
  • Manage contractor contracts, payment applications, purchase orders and change orders.
  • Ensure project schedule tracking to contractual dates using schedule program tools.
  • Lead engagement and planning with the Operations team to ensure successful customer handovers, to include co-leading commissioning and closeout phase activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent communicator with executives and customers. Frequent, high quality, transparent information flow and escalation of issues is the highest priority for this role. Transparency, curiosity and humility are essential characteristics.
  • Comfortable with escalation and collaboration rather than handling problems on one's own.
  • Possesses an aptitude for continuous improvement.
  • This role requires extreme organisation and ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • 5-8 years of construction experience with a competent understanding and experience in:
  • Construction budgeting and forecasting
  • Contract management
  • Construction drawings and specifications - all disciplines
  • Jobsite delivery coordination with local jurisdictions
  • Project planning and site logistics strategy
  • Construction payment applications, change orders, and with construction accounting processes
  • Construction schedules
  • Commissioning and project handover
  • Ability to handle weekly customer meetings/presentations/onsite tours with discernment and professional demeanour.
  • Ability to manage, train and communicate processes effectively.
  • Familiarity with supply chain and logistics.
  • Comfortable with technology and adept in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Candidate will be based primarily at the Dallas Office location with occasional travel to jobsites (10%-20% travel).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
