This position can be located in any of our 27 offices, 100% virtual or hybrid.YOUR TEAM.The Accountant will work with external clients to provide timely, efficient accountant support in the government contracting environment. You will have responsibility to execute a wide range of accounting services, including monthly services and special projects.WHY COHNREZNICK?

YOUR ROLE.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Develop and maintain an understanding of the accounting operations within each assigned client
Recommend, design, and implement departmental controls and procedures
Handle various accounting functions related to government contracts
Communicate with clients on an ongoing basis
Coach and mentor junior staff
Analyze various transactions and prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements
Prepare annual incurred cost submissions and indirect rate proposals
Interact directly with Partners and other leaders on client and operational management
Your Experience.
The successful candidate will have:
B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance and 2-4 years experience in government contract accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in the use of an ERP accounting system such as Unanet Govcon, Deltek Cospoint, and/or Jamis
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), government contracting regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
Flexible, organized and possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work as a team member or as an individual contributor
Must have strong customer service orientation; be able to maintain a professional demeanor, and work under pressure to handle critical issues in timely manner.
