Warehouse Danville, Illinois Minimum Experience **Entry-level** Compensation **$16-$20/Hour + Bonus Eligible** *Greenhouse Megastore*, one of the nation's leading suppliers of hobby and commercial greenhouse structures, greenhouse, and garden supplies, is seeking up to (8) *Warehouse Associates* to join our Danville warehouse operations. This is a temporary, full-time, position anticipated through May 2022. GMS will provide you a great work environment and competitive wage in exchange for a good day's work, an excellent attitude, team player, and customer-focused work ethic. This position also has the potential to become regular, full-time with full benefits at the end of the assignment.

Starting Rate: $16-$20.00/hr based on experience, +Bonus Eligible

Bonus: Additional $1.00/hr (up to $1,000)

State Date: Immediate

Typical Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, typically 7:00am-3:30pm CT, OT may be required during Spring busy season (Spring: Jan-May).

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, is assigned to work in a specific area or function of the warehouse performing warehouse operations based on level of experience. May cross-train into other functions of the warehouse as needed. These areas would include but are not limited to: picking and packing of product; processing orders for shipment; picking product for specialized kitting/bundle; receiving duties; loading/unloading trucks; building specialized pallets for freight orders; restocking and moving products to assigned locations; loading will-call orders; and assisting with processing of freight orders, returns, or damaged product.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

* High School diploma or equivalent. Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required. Experience using Microsoft based programs and scanners to pick products a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to understand the overall warehouse workflow, listen effectively, follow instructions, and can work with minimal guidance or as part of a team. Must have the ability to:

- Operate hand tools, such as pallet trucks, box cutters, and tape guns.

- Operate a forklift or cardboard baler if required.

- Lift up to 50lbs independently, make repetitive movements, stoop, kneel, crouch, push/pull, grasp, use ladders, walk and stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.

- Assist with 2-man lifts up to 200 pounds frequently and 200+ pounds occasionally.

- Work overtime when necessary to meet productivity goals and customer demands.

- Be reliable and maintain appropriate attendance standards.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Physical demands: significant walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing ladders and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity; Vision and finger dexterity to work at a computer terminal entering/searching data/using scan guns on a regular basis. The job is performed under temperature fluctuations within the warehouse and under conditions with some exposure to high temperatures and/or cold temperatures when loading/unloading trucks or performing related job duties.
