System One is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Raymond, MS.SUMMARY: The Quality Engineer is responsible for assuring quality in all phases of the fabrication/manufacturing process and ensuring continuous production of products consistent with established standards. The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures that all company products meet quality standards. Their primary responsibilities include understanding customer expectations and needs and implementing quality standards and quality control processes.RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs product launch process on new products released in the assigned departments. Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned products or components. Ensures inspection control plans are created, published, and maintained for all parts that fit the designated criteria. Works with buyers to address vendor quality and ensure appropriate investigation and corrective actions are taking place. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes. Maintains the calibration database for all fixtures, tools, and gages by determining the calibration frequency and methodology. Review purchased products or components in the designated area and provides input to the buyer. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities. Prepares and presents technical and quality program information to supervisors and hourly workers. Interprets blueprints, drawings, sample models, or specifications to verify parts meet Company standards for quality. Inspects product and/or component parts for nonconformance requirements. Rejects nonconforming parts using a standardized process. Wears all safety equipment, follow safety rules and supports, and promotes safety in the work areas. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. 1+ years' quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, desirable 1+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, desirable.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization. Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products. Complex ERP System Experience (SAP Preferred) preferred Ability to prepare clear and succinct presentations Greenbelt/Blackbelt/Six Sigma certification a plus Strong project management skills. Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a positive attitude and a high degree of initiative. Basic knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design. Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement. High energy demonstrates urgency and fast pace. Independent self-starter with a desire for continuous learning. Strong problem-solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on technical analyses. Adept at communicating with all levels of staff. Agile in decision-making skills and ability to articulate conformance issues to inspectors, supervisors, and hourly workers.
