****Job Summary****

This position will share the responsibility to monitor and maintain cleanliness of both Large and Small Animal Hospital facilities using established cleaning and disinfection protocols. Provide animal care when directed, including feeding, watering, changing bedding, cleaning cages/runs and exercising. Perform record keeping tasks as necessary. Will share responsibility to cover co-workers areas during vacations/leave time. Will also share in holiday coverage rotation in the Small Animal Hospital. This is a second shift position; hours are 4pm to 12:30 am Monday - Friday. Pay starts at $13/hour, with a $0.45 shift differential (internal employees please refer to compensation guidelines). **Required:**

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal and written instructions

* Must be able to read, write and understand English

* Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers

* Excellent customer service skills

* Must be organized, and possess good time management skills with the ability to prioritize

* Capable of promoting good teamwork and work without close supervision while producing high quality work

* Must be able to maintain a good attendance record

* Ability to promote a safe working environment and to ensure that all safety procedures are followed

* Must be able to lift and carry 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally

**Preferred:**

* High School Diploma/GED

* Custodial experience

* Hospital cleaning experience

* Knowledge and skills specific to floor care

* Animal handling experience

**Additional Information:**

* Hours: 4pm to 12:30 am Monday - Friday

* Will share in the holiday coverage rotation for the Small Animal Hospital
