Office of Fiscal and Monitoring

The Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services (OFMS) Monitoring Services Division is responsible for providing risk management services for OFMS and ODJFS. The division manages risk through subrecipient and contractor monitoring. The division provides training, technical assistance, audit liaison services, and resolution services. The division provides oversight for counties, workforce local areas, state agencies, and others. Additionally, the division manages the County Finance Information System (CFIS). Their services also include technical assistance and training for Ohio's counties. Our focus is on efficient and effective business operations, internal control, and compliance. What You'll Do

The primary function of this job is to coordinate chart field data accuracy between the Department of Job & Family Services and the Department of Children and Youth. Monitors daily interface transactions and conducts research to determine interface errors. Research and analyze budget errors/matching exceptions to determine a resolution.

Job Duties
  • Analyze Grant Award
  • Performs Research for Budget Errors
  • Coordinates with CFIS vendor to Troubleshoot System Issues
  • Review Interface Transactions and Research Errors
  • Create, Request, and Implement new Fiscal Codes
  • Verify chart fields are Accurate in OAKS and CFIS


Schedule: 8am - 5pm Mon-Fri (actual times are negotiable)

Travel: Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid drivers license.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

Option 1 :

4 yrs. experience in budgeting that included fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer assisted regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefit analysis).

Option 2 :

Completion of undergraduate core program in accounting, public finance, public administration or business administration; 24 mos. exp. in fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer assisted regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefit analysis).

Option 3 :

Completion of graduate core program in accounting, public finance, public administration or business administration; 12 mos. exp. in fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefit analysis).

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio's OCSEA/AFSCME. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range 33 (step 1, currently $32.08 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
