The Analyst will have four primary areas of responsibility: Transaction Support, Client Prospecting, Firm Marketing and Industry Research. Transaction Support Assist Westbury project teams on client investment banking engagements. Valuations Discounted cash flow Publicly traded comparable companies Comparable transactions Build detailed financial models to help forecast and evaluate performance under various operating scenarios and different capital structures Client operations analysis (by product, customer, geography, etc.) Leveraged buyout Industry Research Analyze industry growth and trends Competitor analysis Client Marketing Materials Contribute to the development of information supporting memoranda, management presentations, teasers, and other marketing materials Develop transaction-related materials for clients, such as company positioning, financing alternatives, and M&A/strategic alternatives When appropriately licensed, help draft confidential information memoranda Prepare target lists of buyers, investors, and target companies for transactions Other Responsibilities Attend client meetings and presentations to potential buyers/investors as required Track project activity Help conduct initial company due diligence and set up and maintain virtual data rooms Client Prospecting Research target industries Identify prospective client companies and executives Develop marketing pitches Generate ideas and analytical materials in support of prospect meetings Prepare presentation materials for use in prospect meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance Firm Marketing Assist Westbury in utilizing, configuring, managing, enhancing and integrating customer relationship management system (CRM), the firm’s website, and email marketing system. Strengthen the firm’s presence on LinkedIn and Twitter Prepare industry analyses and case studies, and write articles showcasing the firm’s knowledge of specified industry segments and capabilities in serving clients Qualifications Skills: Quantitatively and financially-oriented, possessing the ability to succinctly express ideas; exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of and facility with financial modeling and valuation; strong quantitative skills, including financial modeling and financial statement analysis; excellent organization, communication and research skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and proficiency in VBA is a plus; strong working knowledge of PitchBook or equivalent (e.g., Capital IQ, FactSet or Thomson Reuters); facility with configuring and using Web-based software. Ability to Contribute to the Organization: Strong team player with a positive can-do attitude and desire to be part of a close-knit group operating in an intensive and challenging work environment; high level of personal initiative; maturity; determination to succeed, a commitment to hard work and a passion for creative thinking. Experience and Background: Exceptional academic performance from a challenging academic institution, minimum BA or BS degree; proven track record of success; prefer one year of full-time experience in investment banking, finance or a related industry, but will consider very strong candidates without experience; must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
