Stellar is seeking Pipefitters to plan, lay-out, position and align fabricated parts of mechanical, structural, and miscellaneous assemblies. You will install, test and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards as well as perform other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by supervision. Must be familiar with HVAC systems, plumbing systems and industrial plant utilities utilizing boiler systems, steam piping, compressed air systems, hot and cold water piping systems, and other process systems.Regarding the portion of the work assigned, develop complete understanding of design plans and specificationsPlan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products in accordance with those plans and specificationsRead and understand design documents, including isometric and orthographic drawings. Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensionsUse appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, assemble, and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular productsInstall supports, valves and other control equipmentTest installed piping systems and install all other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specificationsBolt, clamp or tack-weld parts to secure in position for final weldingUtilize all pipe fitting techniques and methods for different types of piping systems and pipe couplings including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued and fused jointsUnderstand and implement lockout/tagout procedures in a safe mannerFollow established job-site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work areaIdentify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazardsInspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain, and take any corrective action neededInstall all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specificationsProduce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standardsPerform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisorWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
