The Hilton Richardson is looking for a Lead Bartender to join the team

The Lead Bartender is responsible for preparing drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems; providing the highest quality service to guests and servers, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation while also maintaining control over the liquor inventory.

Essential Requirements:
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards, scheduling will vary according to the hotel business demands.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming (per brand standards).
  • Always comply with the hotel's standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position to include Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.
  • Perform opening and closing side work according to hotel standards to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the company's mixing, portion control and presentation standards.
  • Serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system.
  • Assist with maintaining beverage cost.
  • Scan each guest's ID prior to serving them.
  • Always ask patrons of questionable age for proper identification.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests in a timely manner.
  • Smile and establish approach-ability with each guest.
  • Offer each guest a menu.
  • Serve guests promptly (within 3 minutes of order).
  • Garnish box must always be displayed on bar top .
  • Ice scoop must always be used.
  • Never handle glasses near the rim.
  • Ensure that the bar is kept clean and tidy. Clear bar/tables promptly after guest(s) depart.
  • Follow check ringing procedures. Each transaction must be rung in immediately after the order is placed.
  • Offer refills before drinks are empty.
  • Carry out cashiering functions in closing checks and present each guest with a receipt, even if they do not ask for one.
  • Follow all state liquor laws. NEVER serve intoxicated patrons' alcohol.
  • Keep pour sizes consistent.
  • Upon payment, thank guests with eye contact.
  • Never eat or drink in public view.
  • Be helpful and knowledgeable with questions asked.
  • Up-sell beer, liquor, and wine whenever possible.
  • Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Be familiar with the function of each department.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years or more as a lead bartender or supervisor
  • Heavy experience in mixology or as a certified mixologist
  • Knowledge of mixology for specialty cocktails and traditional cocktails
  • Ability to create recipes, invent new recipes and perfecting existing recipes
  • Communicate with other bartenders to ensure that they can make specialty drinks
  • Ability to answer questions about specialty drinks and interact with guests
