Job Title: Solr Admin (Kubernetes)
Location: Austin. TX
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Solr Administrator to join our team and manage the configuration, optimization, and overall health of our Solr search platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in search technology, hands-on experience with Apache Solr, and a proactive approach to system administration. As a Solr Admin, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, performance, and scalability of our Solr-based search solutions.

Responsibilities:
Solr Configuration and Optimization: Configure and fine-tune Solr settings to optimize search performance. Implement best practices for index optimization and search relevancy. System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of Solr clusters. Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and patches. Indexing and Data Management: Manage data indexing processes and ensure timely updates to the search index. Implement strategies for efficient data storage and retrieval. Security and Access Control: Implement and maintain security measures for Solr instances. Define and manage access control policies for users and applications. Capacity Planning and Scaling: Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future resource requirements. Scale Solr infrastructure to accommodate growing data and user loads. Troubleshooting and Support: Respond to and resolve issues related to search functionality promptly. Collaborate with development teams to address integration challenges. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Provide training and guidance to team members as needed. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance and generate regular reports. Analyze performance metrics and propose improvements for efficiency. Requirements:
Proven experience as a Solr Administrator or in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of Apache Solr architecture, configuration, and optimization. Hands-on experience with indexing, query optimization, and relevancy tuning. Familiarity with search engine technologies, data structures, and algorithms. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks. Knowledge of security best practices for Solr implementations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
